I am an economic refugee from California. I escaped to Nevada with my family, my business and my life a decade ago. It was either run for my life, or die trying. I escaped because of the impossible business climate - the highest income and business taxes in the country, the highest workers comp taxes, out of control government employee unions, the most lawyers in the country. It was (and is) a recipe for economic disaster. California had destroyed my ability to do business.
For the last decade, I’ve been traveling the nation as a best-selling author, business speaker and political leader comparing California to Nevada. At each stop I extol the virtues of Nevada - smaller government, fewer government employees, less power for unions and lawyers, far lower taxes. Quite simply, Nevada gives a small business owner a chance to live, to survive, to prosper. It’s called economic freedom. All small business owners want is for government to get out of the way and stop stealing our money. We can’t build a good business without the seed capital you are stealing. If the business actually works, we can’t expand without that money you are stealing. We can’t create jobs without that money you are stealing. It’s this simple - in Nevada we can build, survive, and prosper. In California we can’t.



Yesterday my gut instincts were validated in a big way. Chief Executive magazine surveyed business leaders across America and they rated Nevada as the 5th best state in America to do business…and California dead last (that’s #50 out of 50 states for those of you who need teleprompters to think). The bottom 5 states (Massachusetts, New Jersey, Michigan, New York and California) are all deep purple states with high taxes, too many government employees (that loot and bankrupt the taxpayers), too many rules and regulations that strangle business, too powerful unions, and too many lawyers.

Yet on a national basis, Obama and his socialist friends in Congress are trying desperately to replicate California, New York and Michigan - where business owners, retirees, and taxpayers are fleeing by the hundreds of thousands. In just the past few weeks Obama and his anti-economic freedom Congress have tried to pass 2 bills that each could wipe out small business, destroy millions of jobs, and cause a mass exodus of business owners and high income earners out of this country (just as millions of taxpayers have escaped from New York, Michigan and California). Taken together they are a message from Obama: WE ARE OUT TO SIEZE YOUR PROPERTY, STEAL YOUR MONEY, AND DESTROY YOUR LIFE IF YOU OWN A SMALL BUSINESS.

The first one was part of the 2000+ page Obamacare bill that passed, so it is now law. Starting in 2012 every business owner in America must send out a 1099 to the I.R.S. for every bill they pay that adds up to $600 or more in the course of a year. This new law will create a blizzard of compliance issues and paperwork, and an I.R.S. Nanny State never before even imagined. The cost of compliance will be billions of dollars - in the middle of a depression. Very few small business owners have the time, money or manpower (teams of accountants, controllers, bookkeepers) to comply with this new law. It is intended to bleed small business dry and suffocate us under a blizzard of paperwork and I.R.S. tax compliance. If it isn’t overturned by a new Congress before January 1, 2012, say goodbye to millions of jobs.

The 2nd disaster should be called “The Destroy Small Business Instantly Act.” It is part of the “jobs bill” that is coming up for a vote this week. Warning: Congress is trying to create jobs again - even though every other time they’ve tried, they’ve failed miserably. When will they learn - government can’t create jobs, it can only waste money and kill jobs. Congress is proposing to hit every small business in America with a deadly new 15% tax on profits. That’s on top of all the stifling taxes already on the books. This new 15% tax will be assessed on every Sub Chapter S company - which defines every small business and entrepreneur in this country. S Corps are primarily sole proprietorships and businesses of less than 5 employees that create most of the jobs and pay most of the taxes in America. They cannot survive with another 15% of their money stolen on a whim of Obama. They need this 15% of profits, in the middle of a depression, to create new jobs, or keep current ones employed.

This bill would instantly put most of the small businesses in America out of business. Since small business creates 75% of all new jobs, think of the implications. This is Obama’s way to take the cap off 15% FICA taxes without anyone noticing. This is fraud. It is theft that would make the mafia blush. It is a disgrace. This dishonors the hardest working people in America - small business owners. Obama should be impeached for trying to destroy mom and pop stores all over America.

The battle lines are drawn - it’s us against them. It’s small business against Obama. It’s small business versus big unions and big government. It’s capitalism and what’s left of the American Dream against socialists, marxists and communists. It’s Obama’s attempt to turn all of America into one big California. It’s time to stop this out of control administration. This bill must be stripped out of the jobs bill before small business is wiped off the face of the earth. Obama must be stopped. Please call your Congressman and Senator today.

You are reading this today because you have made a conscious effort to develop and maintain your business or perhaps you are not yet in business and you are doing some preliminary research. You want to know what it will take to find new customers.

You have likely looked into Yellow Pages advertising. Incredibly expensive is it not? Perhaps even radio, television or newspaper advertising has crossed your mind. After all, these are viable and time tested methods to explore markets and drive new business right? They used to be. Not anymore.

I understand internet marketing. I have made that pretty obvious just by being exactly where I needed to be in order for you to find me. I truly believe that business owners like myself need to take control of our marketing platforms. In your case, no one knows your business better than you do. If you want quality, qualified and ready to buy prospects to talk to every every day you need to fully grasp and understand one rule.

"The right prospect, at the right time and the right place is looking for you." Your absolute best prospect is the one looking for you. If you are putting generic ads out there hoping to come across the right customer that is like throwing your net out to sea. Be a lighthouse instead and bring your prospects to you.

If you have purchased leads before you have probably done so with good intentions. The decision to purchase leads usually comes at a time when a marketer, salesperson or business owner has hit a wall. Tired of trying to convince people to become prospects the natural next step is to find a way to cater to the "searcher".

As a result of this niche naturally developing on its own there is a huge surplus of websites selling leads. Lead purchasers from all walks of life and all lines of industry are buying up leads based on the premise that they are not in the marketing business so they should just let someone else do the prospecting leaving the business owner to close sales in his/her area of expertise.

The problem with purchased small business leads is that they are rarely exclusive to you. They are often sold to more than one small business. You end up paying to talk to your competitors prospects! That is insane. Especially when purchasing leads at a premium.

If you want to get ahead and stay there you need a dynamic approach. There is some setup time and a little financial investment involved in setting up your own private lead generation system online. It is worth so much more than you will ever put into it though because you will own and control this system online.

Skepticism - An Entrepreneurs Poison

Skepticism is not a bad thing. In fact every leader I know in the internet marketing industry is a very seasoned skeptic. There is a fine line to be drawn between being a skeptic or being completely closed-minded.

I exercise caution when I am looking into external sources of information, training, mentoring and marketing. I do this because at first glance just about anything positioned with good timing can look appealing or even needed.

Knowing this ahead of time and keeping yourself open to new ideas is necessary if you plan to be well self-educated and well connected in your industry of choice. Don't be afraid to be a skeptic. You need to be in this economy and especially if you are in the saturated world of online marketing.

It's easy to be skeptical of those who are self proclaimed skeptics as well. For example, when offering up information on my business opportunity and someone says they are skeptic they often end up closed-minded. They are the type of person who will see "business opportunity" and without much or any due diligence tell me I'm "in a scam" and they will have nothing to do with it. They call themselves skeptics. No, they are close minded.

A Cookie Cutter World of Money and Commerce

Today I hope to make you think.
Think about some stuff that is important
to you and your family..

And offer you a solution to the consequences
of not being informed.

It all starts with business.

The emphasis of commerce in the world
for the most part is competition and scarcity.

We have been taught that competition is
healthy and maybe in a game it might be,
but in life it can be very destructive.

Because when there is competition in
commerce or industry there is usually
a winner and a loser and the essence
of the competition is money or profit.

In the work force it's the same thing.

We are taught to compete not for the
betterment of mankind but to outperform
our co-worker, maybe for a raise or
promotion.

There's a winner and a loser.

And the big winner is your boss
or owner of the company because you as
the employee are competing against a fellow
worker for the betterment of your own personal or
family gain your employer wins no matter what.

That is "business."

The way things are going, technology
and robots are replacing humans and
displacing them, putting us out of work
rather than saying.."go home early."

The reason is is that if big business can
replace you they can make more profit.

So profits become more important than
people.

There is something fundamentally wrong with
that I think...Don't you agree?

Scarcity from a business point of view is
many times artificially created to jack up
prices for profits.

So why are we willing to accept less and not more?

Why do we assume that in life less abundance, love,
understanding, forgiveness, laughter or wealth is acceptable?

Why are we pre-programmed to "live within our means?"

What is within your means anyway?

"Within your means" is nothing more than what
you have personally defined that to be..

Who said you can't have more?

Who said you have to live on less or
with less?

Who said you can't have fun every day?

Why do we place limits on ourselves and
even deny ourselves out of guilt?

We weren't born with guilt.

We weren't born poor.

We weren't born with limits..

But we were born with a brain.

And the things that we think
about daily is how we get programmed
to live our daily life.

The compounding of the framework of society lends itself
to the worker bee. The drone. The laborer.

The haves and the have not's.
You got a brain. When you were born
it was pretty much a blank slate.

Then your family your friends the people
around you help model how you think
about EVERYTHING..

When we were born we weren't born with
a negative thought, disdain, racism, hate,
negative thoughts, anxiety, fear, denial,
mistrust.

We were born neutral..

So what does this all mean?

Well it means that how you are programmed
to act, react, think is within your total control
and if you're not happy with how you feel
or think you can change it in a mili-second
because it's your brain!

Problem is we get so wrapped up in life
that our thoughts become self-serving
and turn into habits. And because we get
bombarded by all the negativity in the world
we can get sucked into the negative vacuum
and start to think from more of a scarcity
angle than abundance.

When you put your head on the pillow at
night your thoughts marinate in your
sub-conscious mind.

Your subconscious mind takes everything for fact.

So what you feed it before you go to sleep, when you wake
up and what you think about during the day
is what your subconscious mind will work on for
you to make a reality.

One of the benefits of working in the
direct sales industry is that the philosophy
is totally different than what we are used to.

It is based on helping others succeed.

Helping others achieve with a universal
mindset of we all get better together.

The model is not set-up for winners and
losers. It's set up for all winners!

The mindset is totally different than
boss-employee. It's we all get better
if we all get better and you want the next
guy to do even do even BETTER than you.

It's just a better model and of course since it's
your own business you have the opportunity
to call the shots and create a residual income
that can pay you even when you're not working.

So is that a better possibility than what you
have now?

Now I'm going to introduce you to concepts

American Health Care

The problem I have with "President" Obama is this: There is no money to spend on Health Care Reform. It is now certain that America and all countries dependent on it's currency's strength are doomed.

BEFORE Health Care reform each American, newborn to near dead, owed 200 000 USD in national debt. What will the numbers be now?

Another sign of illegitimacy is when an opportunity is advertised with the key benefit of joining being "We do everything for you with our system. All you have to do is inject money and watch the checks role in". Pretty easy to spot, if you are careful and realistic.

One of the best ways to determine if an opportunity is good or not is to take notes on the processes used to acquire you as a lead, and bring you towards the sign up process. If you don't like the way your information was acquired, the way you are being approached and marketed to and the overall message... you won't like the opportunity. Why? Simple. You would be using the very same tactics to prospect if YOU joined this type of business.

3A) If you are like most women you are wondering right now "How do home based business opportunities for women differ from others?". Ask yourself: "Is it the internet that makes internet marketers amazing money, or is it their product offering and personal integrity?" It's all three. The internet is the vehicle, the product is the benefit and the value (most importantly) is the end result.

You can market vitamins, juices, travel vouchers, cash gifting, affiliate products and opportunities, real estate deals and the list goes on. If you don't present your audience with something different, well, I'm sorry to say you'll be in the 97% who don't ever make enough to money to cover their expenses.

You HAVE to be valuable or it won't matter WHAT you are marketing, you'll get trampled.

The top ways to make money on the internet involve providing free content like the video you are watching right now and being reliable and trustworthy. You'll find that once you have a loyal group of subscribers to your list and frequenting your websites and blogs they'll be come to you for advice. That's key.



5Q) How can I earn income anywhere?

5A) I am often asked: "How can I earn income anywhere?". You can do so by aligning yourself to a business that markets online AND teaches you while supporting you. I live in a metropolitan area of just under 1 million people. Less than 5% of my marketing is done in person. Don't get me wrong face to face and word of mouth networking is an incredible way to drive business and maintain a customer base and team. However, if you want a TRULY portable business that will bring you time freedom unlike anything you've ever imagined, you need to be portable.

Thank goodness for the internet!

Now, decide for yourself. What are you willing to do to make your goals a reality? There are no quick in roads to your goals. It takes pain and commitment. With the right opportunity, products and team you can achieve reliable and consistent growth and finally shatter the chains of employment.

6Q) Want to know how to complete home business due diligence?

6A) There is a HUGE abundance of home business advertising on the internet. How are you doing your home business due diligence? To some the advice I am about to give may be very obvious, to others it could very well have gone right over your head.

Most of us ask our friends and family what they think when trying to make a decision. It could be about dinner tonight or who to marry. Would you take advice from people who have the exact opposite of what you want in life? If you wanted to know a good burger place would you ask a vegetarian? How about asking a Catholic Priest for dating advice? Come on! So why do so many people who want to be financially free ask and TAKE the advice... of POOR people?

Here is my point. When you Google an opportunity you will ALWAYS get results both negative and positive. "SCAM ALERT!" "FRAUD!" "MONEY WASTER!" "DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! Etc..." and "Make 1000 dollars instantly" "FIRE YOUR BOSS TOMORROW" etc.

The Internet is not censored. This is why there is so much nonsense on here. Just remember, most people who write hateful things about businesses are doing so because they were convinced to join a business. They joined. Didn't make a penny because they didn't DO anything. They quit. Now they spend 100 times more effort distracting others than they ever did marketing their business. Oh, these are likely to be people in the same category as those telling you to stop dreaming and just get a job.

It's just the way it is. Human nature. The minority flourish by sacrificing what the majority refuse to... their comforts zones.

Be different. Call the head office, get on some conference calls and ask for access to the training a home business offers. Show some interest and drive. Seek advice from those living the way you aspire to live. They obviously know how to get what YOU want. They are your best assets.

7Q) Is it really possible to get rich quick with residual income opportunities?

7A) NO! I'm being serious. The word "residual" is intended to imply long term passive income. Payment today, tomorrow and beyond for work you did once. If you could have 100 dollars once or 1 dollar a day for the rest of your life by completing the same amount of work which would you choose?

There is a fine balance between falling for a "get rich quick" scheme or scam and choosing a business opportunity with great upfront commissions for "now" money and high back end commissions for residual passive income.

8Q) Are there any good free online business opportunities?

8A) You know what I am going to say don't you? You get what you pay for? Ok, in fairness it's not ALWAYS true that free is of no tangible value... this video series is free. You can't build an entire business on this video series though.

There is an unlimited amount of free in the world of online business. I can tell you with certainty that you will not be extremely wealthy in a business model that requires absolutely nothing of it's membership. I can tell you also that the products attached to free business opportunities are almost never something unique or highly sought after.

Do some research on your own. You'll see the caliber of support, leadership, drive and determination is nowhere near what it would be if there was something of value on the table. If you ever find yourself considering a free online business ask yourself "Would I be able to make any money working with consultants who have put nothing of themselves into this business?"

There isn't a single successful business or business person out there who invested nothing into their financial empire. It just doesn't happen that way.



9Q) Do you REALLY want a home based internet JOB?

9A) You may have looked at work at home based internet job type positions before. If so, you know about the following:

- stuffing envelopes
- making jewelery
- mailing coupons
- filling surveys
- putting STAMPS on envelopes
- etc...

I looked at all of these. I was looking for something for my mother to do. At the time, she was a stay at home mom, my dad was working 2 jobs and I was working from home and struggling to make ends meet. We found that after replying to the ads for home based internet jobs we just got, you guessed it, more advertising in the mail. We actually PAID to be advertised to.. unreal. Wait... that's kind of like paying for TV.

Anyway, it's so frustrating to me and even infuriating to think that there are so many eager and willing people out there who want to do some good in exchange for financial freedom yet others are wiling to waste their time and money trying to scam and coerce people into a rotten deal.

OK, I'm biased against employment. I can't say otherwise or I'd be lying. Employment is a way to get by. There is nothing wrong with it. There is good and bad with every income stream but listen closely. If you want to have money working for you, retire young, have time freedom and stop trading your life for hours on a paycheck then I need to tell you being in business for yourself is the way to do it.

10Q) What is an affiliate marketing opportunity?

10A) An affiliate marketing opportunity can be a main business for you to be involved in. You can market products directing prospects to a pre-made marketing website supplied to you by a company with existing products and sales systems in place. Every time a sale is made as a result of the traffic you generated you earn a portion of the sale.

Truthfully, I love affiliate marketing systems. I use more than one. It's a great way to provide value to people on your email marketing list who are in other businesses. It also lowers your cost of advertising overall.

This is one of many ways to have multiple income streams rather than depending on one small percentage cut from your primary business of choice.

Questions you should ask when looking for a online business



1Q) Where can I find an online marketing course that teaches me to generate my own leads?

1A) This is key when making an income online. You should really be training daily to either learn new techniques or support the ones you've got already. Sign up for a online marketing course that is membership based. Make sure you do your due diligence here though because again there is a lot of fluff out there on the internet.

You want to make sure the course you select has been backed by a company or individual with proven results and a large following. A good course will include dynamic updates, a usable marketing system you can use to market anything you want and will run you between $100 and $200 per month. Compare that to a marketing course at your local community college. These take 2 to 3 years and it's all theory. With a online marketing course you are learning and earning in real time. Not paying for a 40 hour study week of theory which will be 90% obsolete by the time you graduate.

2Q) How do I find business opportunity seekers?

2A) A very important question I get asked all the time is "How am I supposed to find business opportunity seekers?". The worst thing you could do with your time is go after opportunity seekers and try to recruit them. You want to be the one being chased down for your knowledge and expertise right? Otherwise you are banging your head against the wall (or the phone) trying to grow your business. Instead, you should work on being more magnetic in your approach.

There are many ways to do this, I won't get into all of it here, but if you are willing we can teach you how it's done.

We all know what it's like to have someone coming at us with the latest business opportunity they have found. I always felt embarrassed when I was approaching family and friends about my marketing opportunity. 3A) Well that depends what you are getting for your small start up cost. In my experience there are 2 ways to buy into a company. The traditional method is buying a large amount of product and keep it in stock so that you always have product on hand to give or sell to potential or new prospects and customers. The other method is a buy in cost for the purpose of providing you with enough product or service for yourself to experience along with the tools you need to get started.

Obviously, small start up cost investments that simply provide a lot of product is not what a new Online Marketer needs. First of all, all legitimate and successful business opportunities will provide drop shipping to your customer. (Provided the items you are promoting are of a value of less than about 1000 dollars USD). Front end loading a new prospect only serves to frustrate them as they try to break even.

The short answer is, no there is nothing wrong with a small start up cost. However, focus your attention on what you are getting for that start up cost. After all, sitting on top of boxes of products isn't going to help you move them is it?

Personally, I would never even look past the first page of a business that offers a free to join opportunity. I would look for a real tangible business with great wealthy entrepreneurs and business people backing it up.

4Q) When choosing a specific online money generation system, who is my competition?

4A) This is a very important question. In fact, if you ask yourself this question first when looking at a specific business opportunity you are doing yourself a huge favor.

If you look at a business and see that their product line or service is something readily available on the market like health and wellness products or travel then you already know you have some huge competition out there with even huger marketing budgets than you'll ever have. Not to mention brand recognition.

When choosing your online money generation system think long and hard about who you will be competing with. You can be sure your prospects will be mentioning them to you frequently. What do you think that will do to your bottom line and most importantly your mindset moving forward? It's going to crush you.

If you haven't found a unique product or service that more than 80% of the population not only needs but KNOWS they need, then keep looking. This can be the difference between you starting an expensive short term hobby instead of a profitable long term cash haven.

5Q) What home business products should I consider marketing?

5A) When considering what home business products to become involved with you need to ask yourself some key questions: Who can I market this to? Do I believe in this product? Did I have to be convinced that I needed this product?

You see, if you end up in a business model that has you working hard to convince people to change their mindsets to something knew in order to sell your product or business, you have a long road ahead of you and the end of the trip is rather painful. I've been down this road. I've sold vacuums, vitamins, legal insurance and golf equipment. All of these things are available through major institutions around the world. Sure, I made some money but it wasn't anything near what I needed to be independently wealthy.

It's very crucial that you offer a product the fills an existing need. If you are trying to cater to a market that doesn't know it exists in the first place... you better have A LOT of leverage.

I suggest focusing your attention during your search for home business products in an area of need. Finances, marketing education, debt relief, investment knowledge etc. We all need more money. We all need to know what to do with our money in order to protect it.

6Q) Are there proven online business systems that I can use in my chosen new online opportunity?

6A) This is a very good question. It's extremely important that you have a plan in place before you make a long term decision on a business. Never ever say "I'll try this business and see what happens". I can tell you now that in an industry with a 97% failure rate you better not come in with a "let's give it a shot" attitude. You'll fail.

Please understand the nature of the 97% failure rate I speak of. The majority of people who get involved in a home business buy in, do little to nothing beyond simply mentioning to a few friends and family that they are part of this new great business and product. I've been there and I've made these attempts.

As one of my favorite mentors Mike Dillard says "The sad truth is that 90% of those who start a networking business aren't really serious about becoming self-employed. They are just looking to "buy some hope", so they can quiet the voices of discontent in their heads. Soon enough, they'll find an excuse as to why "it didn't work for them", and quit. And there's NOTHING you can do about it - So don't spend your time and energy worrying about it."

All of this is to say that if you want to make it at any endeavor you have to treat it like a million dollar investment. Not because you've invested 1 million dollars but because that's what you stand to lose if you don't act with a strong sense of purpose.

7Q) How many different income streams are available for me to make income online with this opportunity?

7A) I see it all the time. Income opportunities with one line of income. It's the traditional and rarely successful way to make income online. When you spend countless hours and dollars on generating web traffic to your sales pages but only provide one product or service for your visitor to purchase you are settling for very low lead to customer conversions.

You have to understand leverage. If you have any amount of traffic visiting your website you should have at least 3 but more like 10 streams of income to profit from. I'm not suggesting you have a home page littered with advertisements. That will actually harm you. I'm suggesting you have a primary marketing purpose but also offer several universal non competitive products and services that you can benefit from financially that will help others should they choose to do business with someone else.

When you are setup with many income streams you can begin to profit even from those who are not interested in your primary business.
